costa que rica

well, to all of you who were worried, marti is here, safe and sound, and we only had to linger in the rancid cesspool that is san jose for a night or two. we're on the nicoya peninsula now, in montezuma, getting tan as little brown bunnies, and marti gets blonder by the second. literally, not figuratively. the theory is that we head to monteverde tomorrow for some rainforest time, and then back to san jose by friday for our early as hell flights saturday morn. travelling together is awesome, and while i still get the giggles at the iron grip she has during the bus rides, we've been safe and happy and sunkissed.

i missed blogging last week, and i have no excuse to save me. i was having a blast, and the computer wasnt part of my plans. amber, sara, and i decided to cave to the pressure of roatan, and we got certified to dive. the only thing more amazing and beautiful than the actual diving was watching sara's conversion. the skeptic became a giddy, giggly ball of goggle imprinted, salty faced ridiculous joy. kicked my ass to see, and i think amber cried in her face mask. as for me, ive dreamed about it every night since i left-- from swimming with sharks to breathing underwater, and ive decided that im doing my advanced certification when i get back. i think i might be a little in trouble with this hobby.
okay, marti and i are headed off to jump some waterfalls so ill catch up later, but to answer all of your questions... ill post pictures when you post comments. so there.

the great commencement

okay, so im a blogger. sue me.
i hate mass emails and the necessary inbox clutter, so i figured id send this into the void and if you want to yell back, let er rip.
so we've been in central america for going on 6 weeks now, and boy howdy, its been amazing. i wont try to backlog the stories, so maybe its too little too late, but i dont think so. amber and sara are amazing to travel with, despite differences in age, personality, appearance, experience, spanish skills, and many many others. all in all, its been utterly kickass.
we're in roatan right now, a little island off the caribbean coast of honduras, and its a beautiful day. weve got a ghetto little place with a communal kitchen (propane burners, i almost blew up the western tip of the island) and fun people. our little house mother's name is yoli, not too far a cry from my mother in copan, loli, and shes hilarious and feisty as hell. we cooked balleadas last night, with a little twist. tortillas, queso, frijoles, huevos, aguacates. lovely and about 90 cents for the meal. not bad.
this wont be too long, since its just the conception of the blog baby, but ill try to be pretty consistent. i also have to go to the bathroom right now.
until later....
